Graham Thoms "En Limbo" / PREMIERE

The most assiduous (or Parisian) elements of LIVE's audience will most likely feel at home at the simple mention of Graham Thoms' name - originally from Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A., the man picked the French capital as his new official residency some years ago already now, as though to better import the colors of Uprise Skateshop.

With filmer Corey Henderson, their mutual hobby is work - but not just of any kind: "Trabajando" is the code name for their family operation, the extension of which transcends national borders all the way till Barcelona, and has been for many a year and video production now. LIVE already introduced you to two parts from "TRABAJANDO 4" here alongside an interview with the duo; and while the full video is still available from the best-connected skateshops or via Palomino in home-burned DVD form, the entirety of Corey's latest local montage "OUT OF THE LOOP" can still be watched here.

So as far as today, what's up? Well, we're talking the continuation of Graham's skate peregrinations ever since he set up camp on the old continent for good. Again, Corey is behind the editing, and also the filming with contributions from Jimmy Cholley of Trois CCD, Deric Esparza and Matthias Ellinger. Lotso' Paris lines, bearing witness to Graham's ease as he develops solid familiarity for spots now local to him (although he's really been skating most of them since 2005), paired up with some fine Chicago clips to rep his roots and loop the Loop.

His relocation was a big moment for Graham, after all as seven years later, he's still digesting the experience, unable to stop taking it all in; a new French reality that he exploits by obsessively haunting each and every Paris spot possible, as though in the perpetual quest for an endless partition of benches to dot with his own notes from back home.

"EN LIMBO" is now LIVE and to be appreciated as the slice of life of a U.S. cousin that it really is! For proof, Graham felt like going for a TransWorld check out type of format to express himself, which explains the segment below - including some commentary straight from Florentin Marfaing. Qualité !

"OUT OF THE LOOP" / Corey Henderson / PREMIERE

If Corey Henderson's name rings a bell to you, maybe that has to do with how he's the author of the "Trabajando" video series, which LIVE has brought up before. Most notably, we'll send you back to the Paris segment, and Graham Thoms's section in "TRABAJANDO 4", not coming without an in-depth, joined interview with both the skater and the filmmaker, just because!

Anyway, Corey is still based in Chicago and, despite his yearly routine of traveling to Europe (especially Barcelona, his crew's connection of choice) to film, he didn't go to in 2019 which, in fact, didn't deter him from directing a new project... And going for something unique.

"OUT OF THE LOOP" (available for download, here) consists in fifteen minutes of skateboarding not in, but around Chicago, in the outskirts - namely in the cities of Oak Park, River Forest, Berwyn, Cicero and Forest Park. What originally started out as the concept for a more humble solo project only grew exponentionally bigger as Corey's crew really came through with the motivation he needed to bring a full montage to completion (that's including the soundtrack, all original and also orchestrated by Corey), as well as their shared thirst for spots of a special kind - one that Corey himself recounts, below...

Graham Thoms / "Trabajando 4" / INTERVIEW

The Loop - you're either in, or out of it. But Graham Thoms is special as he's from there aka. Chicago, Illinois, a location with an equally special place in his heart; armed with not just "street cred" but a true urban upbringing, and the friendliest, most optimistic attitude to boot, he's been spreading Chi-love a big chunk of the old continent over as he's been fascinated by it, regularly taking trips to (and filming parts in) Barcelona for years until he eventually made the move for good and relocated to Paris, France. Now an international spokesman from My Kind Of Town, together with his homie Corey Henderson, they've been dropping full-length indie vids under the alias "Trabajando" on a strict annual basis for a few years, intertwining footage from foreign lands with their super strong hometown clips. The fourth installment is now dropping; and the winning duo was kind enough to grant LIVE Skateboard Media the diffusion of two of its segments: the Paris part, and Graham's (incredible) part. Not just that, but they also felt like contributing with words of love and boys did they have plenty to give.
