Torio, Torio...

Well of course, if one of the best parts from the best 2018 independent skate video only so many people really saw (and it should go without saying at this point how we mean the full DVD the Japanese crew behind Toriotoko dropped that very year) is now directly streamable online, and uploaded straight by the author, then we can only back it.

If you're new here - Toriotoko is the efficient, nocturnal crew conducted by the fantastic Mitsuko Toshiba who's mostly renowned for working during the day, filming at night, and rarely sleeping; and so, every ingredient is there at hand for quite the spicy cosmic salsa, one just about to sting your flank with its VX, clearly improvised maneuver, prowess and spot match-ups, and one final cut of raw black and white dip.

Last but not least, they also actually know how to Internet and so, without excess but maybe when it comes to unlisting their older montages from their YouTube channel; uncertainty has been established a habit and so, might as well subscribe!

The Manwho Souled The World

We've mentioned works from the Japanese crew Manwho before, although without ever really getting to give them a proper introduction; today, we're happily righting this wrong with their new montage - dedicated to Jupiter ("木星") - and quite violently so, too, as it's got to be one of our favorite edits that came out this year. We're talking six minutes of peak VX-1000 maneuvering around some very remarkable urban skating - all killer no filler - resulting in precious, pristine footage then set to an upbeat and surprisingly joyful soundtrack, making for quite the hypnotic motivational watch; one you'll probably find yourself going back to. And, while all of that sounds just like their classic recipe (given that they're already strong of several full-length DVD's, in between more creative productions, and also of quite the YouTube channel), even the most initiated fans are bound to be shocked by how much everyone is upping the ante here - all in front of Kazuya Yokoe's lens. This even includes Magenta Skateboards rider Shogo Zama, for even more clips after his very recent appearance in Kenta Okamoto's latest video: "PALE". Just beautiful!

At night in the country of the rising sun

TIGHTBOOTH and musician KILLER-BONG just delivered a little gem. A video featuring the Japanese skateboarding in all its glory through Koichiro Uehara and his crew. The spots are exploited to the fullest of their potential, every ingredient is present - from creativity to technique, all infused of the very subtle scent of craziness that usually makes this scene so particular.
