What an ad, Venture

Someone else's trucks of choice shouldn't be anybody's concern, just as much as their own should be their main focus, always... Or not, but what is for sure is that Venture Trucks' new power move in terms of roster edification just manifested itself under the form of four minutes and forty-nine seconds of brand new Bobby Worrest, packed with improbable Pulaski lines and various maneuvers bound to make the interwebs spin. All hail transfers!

Bigger Spin / EP 013 - Seb Daurel

French skate podcast Big Spin is back in full effect for a second season still hosted by Sébastien Charlot, Arnaud Dedieu and featuring, as this year's first guest, the living institution from the South of France: Sébastien Daurel. A man strong of thirty years of skateboarding, a length professional career revolving around Powell Peralta, Cliché and Adidas, and an artlessness only equaling his spontaneous curiosity - although nothing beats his acting skills, and humor. These days, Seb manages the skatepark at Hangar Darwin, a job he doubles up with the one of a full-time dad, all the while being Instagram famous thanks to Leo Valls' Sebdoshow. In between tasks, he still managed to come through with enough history, anecdotes, jokes and banters to spread his silly over not just one, but two episodes of Big Spin. So now it's the Bigger Spin's time to get relaunched, and provide you with complementary commentary, links and moving and still images of various kinds as to illustrate Seb's stories, also in an effort of transmission to non-French speakers!

PLAY!

"PLAY!" is the name of a new exhibition of colorful, ephemeral and skatable structures soon to be scattered throughout Bordeaux, here and there from June 20th to August 20th, 2019. An initiative pushed by local non-profit organization Board'O as part as the municipal program "Liberté !", conceived by Leo Valls and Nicolas Malinowsky who again ponder the evolution of the quantity of space left within the urban environment for playful, skateboarding purposes and other fundamental individual liberties. As a teaser for this summer, here's a skate clip filmed by Doug Guillot, Pierre David and Yentl Touboul inside the Bordeaux National Opera - pretty please!

A. A. alert!

"…like an angel!"

Another skate clip?

When I grow up, I wanna skate like Nik Stain! How about you? Him, or Vincent Touzery…

No pun intended

"HI8US" is the new video confession from S.F. hills' very own Papa Smurf: Ben Gore, pro chez Magenta, world renowned for his power and flick just as much as for his sharp eye, whether behind some kind of photographic lens or not. "A video about a tripod", or so he claims; a deceptively humble description as the edit is stuffed to the brim with genius skateboarding (and the occasional stunt) authored by Brian Delatorre, Ryan Barlow, Roger Krebs, Chris Athans, Trevor Thompson, Brian Powderly, Ben himself and then a handful of more, even. All in the name of his project: Three Press, and conveying some serious Dan Wolfe vibes, but transposed to the current S.F. scene.

Flaco 2: The return

Lakai gives Stevie Perez a second signature shoe, and logically after the Flaco comes the Flaco 2. For those who wish to see how they look once in the heart of the action, the first interested, Stevie Perez in person, allowed himself to destroy some spots (a lot) for the occasion. Filmed with a Vx in the rules of art by Kevin Martinez, the style is clean, relaxed almost casual, to believe that every trick of this part has been landed first try.

Caddo-netics

Dave Caddo, I first heard about him on a rainy day at Cide, a now defunct London skateshop, where his very first part was on heavy rotation, before eventually bump into him, somewhere between Brooklyn and Queens alongside Puleo. Time has passed since, but this man keeps on delivering when it comes to make spots spit what they got to offer, from finding them to knowing how to handle them. Yep, he's got it, and always had!

Buta!

Ah, the RIOS… Or the very last crew on earth where every one is a first name only, while the rest of the world population is only a @, in hope of insta-game fame. They prevails, far from all that and us all, and keep on exploring their home turf, from old rocks to winter distressed asphalt, while still adoring the Ol' Yellow Wheel God. Respect. Period.

Bossa Lucas!

DC meets Sofia

Let's propel off yesterday's post (the full-length video "Lunch") onto another new production by the same author. This time, it is to Sofia, Bulgaria that Krzysztof Godek brings us to, on a trip there with the Polish DC Shoes team. The crew concentrated their effort around one area: the National Palace of Culture, brimming with spots and so many possibilities it's going to be a tough one to hold against them!
