Its very author will be introducing today's video in just a second, below but in a nutshell yes, indeed, it is of Rennes, France that we're talking about here, with its local skate scene which has only been radiating creativity and talent for a good moment now (it's already been eleven years since "CROSSWALK"!). And while still awaiting the new Bears Skateshop video on LIVE soon (with a brand new Hugo Maillard part, out of all its other qualities), feel free to feast off "UNCENSO-RENNES", the new full-length video by Théo Le Guével - who recounts:
"'UNCENSO-RENNES' is a Rennes-based skate video project, filmed over a year with a Sony VX-2000, and a solid crew of about ten skaters and then all the homies - in between the new spots that keep popping up everywhere and the older ones, already worn down by the previous generations. This was a good opportunity for many people from different horizons - Nantes, Lannion, Lorient, Lille - to meet one another, and Rennes prides on its cosmopolitanism! It was also my chance to figure out the world of the VX, complete with its intricacies: dying camera heads, glitchy tapes and faulty capturing hardware! But the joy of manipulating such a camera is worth it in the end, and so is sharing the hype around a clip with everybody. Also we managed to premiere the video at some bars, which was a good reconciliation with normal life in between two lockdowns. Well there you go - a forty minute-trip in the capital of Brittany.
