Jake Borchenko

STREET FEET "Radio Sessions" Vol. 1 / PREMIERE

LIVE has been showcasing the works of Rob Mentov for quite the number of years now; the last time we caught up, the Canadian filmmaker was exploring new horizons - both geographically and mentally - documenting non-skateboarding around the world. So today, it is with great pleasure to announce that Rob is back with a vengeance, on his home grounds again and on wheels too, reviving the Street Feet video productions with a new series: "RADIO SESSIONS", the Hi-8/16mm testimony of the Toronto locals' skate days... Or should we say nights? For reasons that Rob himself was down to detail in-depth, just below, alongside a gallery of photos and stills!

No, not our N.Y.C. friends, but new ones that just so happen to operate on the same continent, just a bit further up North: that's Toronto and, if Jake Borchenko's new edit bears that title, it is because it was entirely filmed in the neighborhood of the homophonic public park: Christie Pits. Not a bad idea, visibly as this three-minute piece is packed to the brim with spots and classy stylings, all for a perfectly mastered handling of the traditional VX-1000 and Super 8 combo. We'll be keeping an eye on Jake's future works (thanks to Rob Mentov of "Street Feet" fame for the link up), and you probably should, too!

Surya / PREMIERE

You know the Street Feet folks, and their Canadian homies at Love, they are the kind to explore. Mainly their surroundings, but whenever they can, as far away as possible… Well, this time, they aimed for the other side of the planet, and not necessarily the most skate friendly. Because if Asia is quite a beloved destination for globe-trotting skaters, it only is for a few marble wonders that were not on the menu, this time. They took on visiting the local scene of countries like India, Manyar or Cambodia, nonetheless. Brace yourself, this is not a tour they are showing us here, it's a trip!
