Switch Big Spin / Skatedads

Bigger Spin / EP 013 - Seb Daurel

French skate podcast Big Spin is back in full effect for a second season still hosted by Sébastien Charlot, Arnaud Dedieu and featuring, as this year's first guest, the living institution from the South of France: Sébastien Daurel. A man strong of thirty years of skateboarding, a length professional career revolving around Powell Peralta, Cliché and Adidas, and an artlessness only equaling his spontaneous curiosity - although nothing beats his acting skills, and humor. These days, Seb manages the skatepark at Hangar Darwin, a job he doubles up with the one of a full-time dad, all the while being Instagram famous thanks to Leo Valls' Sebdoshow. In between tasks, he still managed to come through with enough history, anecdotes, jokes and banters to spread his silly over not just one, but two episodes of Big Spin. So now it's the Bigger Spin's time to get relaunched, and provide you with complementary commentary, links and moving and still images of various kinds as to illustrate Seb's stories, also in an effort of transmission to non-French speakers!

PLAY!

"PLAY!" is the name of a new exhibition of colorful, ephemeral and skatable structures soon to be scattered throughout Bordeaux, here and there from June 20th to August 20th, 2019. An initiative pushed by local non-profit organization Board'O as part as the municipal program "Liberté !", conceived by Leo Valls and Nicolas Malinowsky who again ponder the evolution of the quantity of space left within the urban environment for playful, skateboarding purposes and other fundamental individual liberties. As a teaser for this summer, here's a skate clip filmed by Doug Guillot, Pierre David and Yentl Touboul inside the Bordeaux National Opera - pretty please!

Dimanche en avance!

Ah, the day of the week where everybody is ready to go… Not necessarily in the best shape, but free to hit the streets! Ode to that blessed day, where the streets are finally empty, by the Magenta heads –as seen through the eyes of that Josh Roberts guy– to also announce a bunch of fresh stuff, while celebrating the crowded seshs, including all the homies.

Milano Centrale / PREMIERE

"Milano Centrale", now that name sounds familiar: yes, we are talking about the Italian city main train station, and mostly, mostly its marble ledges, and it rather smooth grounds… A now rare survivor of the 90's and 00's, made famous by various hammers sprinkled through the most celebrated videos of the past two decades. Nowadays a bit neglected in favor of Chinese marble, the plaza is still alive, via its locals, off course, the infamous Chef Family. And Léo Valls, coming back from a recent Magenta visit to the Italian cousins, would be in the known. Enough to plan getting back there with Australian homie, Josh Roberts, to film an edit glorifying the best idea skateboarding has to plant into your brain: get out there to see if there are new friends to make and old ones to visit! A new LIVE production, supported by Adidas Skateboarding.
