Ruben alert!

The latest part of the new Magenta "JUST CRUISE 2" video to drop online to date, straight from their YouTube channel is no other than Ruben Spelta's who now no longer should need an introduction, and delivers grace, spontaneity, subtlety and taste at once - even on a backside lipslide down four blocks like no other one you may have seen.

It is all filmed by Stéphane Feugas and Andréa Dupré.

The DVD can be ordered here, and some more sections watched here!

Lui Araki alert!

Just a couple of weeks after Jameel Douglas', it is now time for another section from the new Magenta full-length video "JUST CRUISE 2" to drop online, this time directly hosted on their YouTube channel and featuring Lui Araki (notably of Strush Wheels and L.I.F.E. fame). Two minutes of free-flowing frantic footwork in and around a city of Bordeaux which really has come a long way in terms of reception since Léo Valls' local implication; and then all the way to Paris, too, as to make an extended take of a French trip (courtesy of Covid regulations) all the more worthwhile.

An article on Lui's part is up on the Magenta website here, and Clément Harpillard's "JUST CRUISE 2" photo zine can still be found here.

The camera work still is by Stéphane "Feugz" Feugas and Andréa Dupré, and the soundtrack is by Matías Enaut.

"Mon Gars" Loophole x Marseille / Zach Chamberlin 5W's!

A new video piece by the legendary Zach Chamberlin just dropped via the San Francisco wheel co., Loophole wheels and we're talking a solid eight minutes of impeccably presented sincere skateboarding on and through the old streets of Marseille, France, featuring the perfect mix of some of the team, locals and visitors and friends from all over, joining forces and vibes on some of the country's oldest crusty spots.

So, "MON GARS IN MARSEILLE" is plenty to possibly wax lyrical about - but let's let the skating do the talking, and also the person who - once again - brillantly captured it all thanks to his trademark Sony VX-1000 and Super-8 wizardry: Zach was down to answer some of our questions indeed, regarding the process, the city and his current activity with Loophole and in general. You can find the resulting conversation in 5W's form, below!

Just Jam

While the new full-length Magenta video "JUST CRUISE 2" continues its worldwide circuit of local premieres, following in the footsteps of the former installment from 2016, and as a way to set the mood prior to imminent release (in addition to this booklet of photos accumulated by Clément Harpillard along the sessions), Jameel Douglas' section just went up as one paticularly promising appetizer, courtesy of Free Skate Mag service, for everyone to enjoy already.

And in true chef meal fashion, no tastebud type shall be overlooked between Jameel's trademark casual flow, technicity that doesn't forget to contextualize itself in creative, original ways, and flawless production in regards to both the camera (here worked by Andréa Dupré and Thomas Courteille, who went to give Feugz a hand) and the editing.

A gem of a video part that breathes organic and so the oxygen of which very much risks contaminating you, with possible salutary effects on your health.

One can read an article on the video by Vivien Feil, right here, and another one is to be found in the latest issue of SuGaR Skate Mag which just came out.

Louison Bobet Forever

The new video production courtesy of Louise Skateboards consists in no less than ten minutes of creative urban skate creative magic all assembled together via elbow grease and helium by Stéphane Feugas, high wire filmer extraordinaire who didn't fall asleep at the wheel of the editing either, as the final product is as meticulously crafted as the most suspect of devices. The devil went down to Bordeaux and Montpellier for the most part, Vincent Dallemagne technically wins the race but each and every of the numerous participants owns their individual merits. The general universe is as captivating as it is delirium tremens-inducing and should put a face on most faces or at the very least, get them out of the house!

Aka. Ser Superstar

Sergio Cadaré, without a doubt this planet's biggest ever Slick Rick fan, when not busy tattooing, officializes his stay on the DC Shoes team roster with an eponymous clip where his impeccable technique and west coast-influenced style really shine. But his two minutes of footage only are the introduction to what then turns out to be a full-fledged Bordeaux edit featuring a plethora of other faces, from Léo Valls to Benjamin Garcia, Nick Dias and even Tom Penny with a surprise appearance. Drew filmed it all, the titles are by Emilien Bonnet, the music notably by Simon Algéo and everything is dedicated to the memory of Adrien "Canardo" Blanc.

Bordeaux Exposure 3

After some recent, heavy teasing, there it is: the brand new, third installment in the "BORDEAUX EXPOSURE" series by Julien Januszkiewicz (whose works and character LIVE has been following since the inception of the series!), finally online in full for you to get to take a gander. Please expect no less than twenty five-minutes of urban skateboarding around Bordeaux, France, but not just that - as Julien also went to film a copious number of talented stylers' peregrinations through the streets of Paris, Milan, Geneva, Montpellier and Lyon. If the bite hits just the right spot, then you can always order the corresponding DVD from Palomino, for instance - or take a look at the soft goods and digital download combos Julien is offering on his website, as a way to thank him!

Oh and yeah - the second video is still up in full here for a revisit, or any need of catching up.

Urban Ruben

A couple universes away from the next Olympics, there it is: Milanese magician Ruben Spelta just earned himself the medal of professionalism via Magenta, and "IL FANTASISTA" is the title of the seven-minute clip officially testifying of said newly-acquired honorific title. Just like last time, behind the camera can be found normally Bordeaux-based Andréa Dupré at operating duties and, as far as subjects, we of course get our fair share of Ruben skating; but also Soy and Vivien who opted to join in and around Milan, obviously well over the abuses and excesses from the New World Order and in need for escapism. And so some beautiful kickflips and choreographed lines did go down in the city those times, also to the beat of many other locals' pushes. This should inspire you to go out and skate too, and also to add cultivating the ideal of suave feet to the list of your personal ambitions.

Château Magenta

The knights of French skateboarding over at Magenta just brought down their drawbridge into this year twenty twenty one A.D. with "LES CHÂTELAINS": close to ten minutes of Bordeaux street sled action on whatever might or might not look like a spot, performed by quite the herd of proud locals. Now, as far as production is concerned, we're talking exceptional colors for the aforementioned coat of arms as the format used this time is H.D. 4:3 - quite the unexpected battlefield, yet still one easily conquered by Andrea Dupré, the camera officer here - in between instances of his personal output and of ritual dubbing at local skateshop Sirop d'Erable. On the program: one section each, respectively, for seneschals Vivien Feil and Léo Valls forming quite the relentless joust against the cobblestones of Southwest France, punctuated by strategic appearances by key squires along the likes of Sergio CadaréJulien JanuskiewiczEmilien BonnetKenny Adoua and Léo Spartacus - whilst one particular flatground pressure flip in front of Edmond Burger can already be heard around the world resonating as the next Pandaymic, we're telling ya!

Bordeaux Exposure 3 trailer

LIVE has been sharing Julien Janusckiewicz's skate works since the very first "BORDEAUX EXPOSURE" back in 2013; in the meantime, the series has gotten itself a second chapter, a handful of one-offs such as "LEO AND SERGIO" or "SWISS EXPOSURE" and is now just about to take its next step, due next spring, as "BORDEAUX EXPOSURE 3" has been boiling in the pot for long enough to juice out this trailer. So, on the menu: mostly Bordeaux, but also a few grams of Paris, Milan, Geneva, Montpellier and Lyon for good measure, all repped by their respective locals. Talk about an appetizer!

Please feel free to explore Julien's Vimeo here and as far as words are concerned, you can also dive back into this vintage interview regarding the original installment in the series, to get familiar (again)!

A Studio in Lisbon

The Montreal-based brand Studio Skateboards recently set up a trip for the whole team to Lisbon, Portugal, which just so happened to painfully coincide with the timing of the closing of national borders in fear of the Covid-19 pandemic. We caught up with one of them in order to contextualize the video that did ensue: Andréa Dupré, who narrates...

D-d-drew!

Andréa Dupré aka. Digital Drew can be found skating in (most of the time) Bordeaux, France, represents local skateshop Sirop d'érable and, as of late, has been loving it hanging out around the Poetic Collective homies. So of course, it was only a matter of time before he stockpiled enough footage with their filmer Markus Bengtsson (also quite the prolific type) for a full web clip of his own, which is what LIVE is presenting you, here. Quite the hungry ripper, that young Frenchman!
