Expansions

The legacy of video productions courtesy of Australian brand Butter Goods only leads one to expect la crème de la crème with every new edit of theirs and this one: "EXPANSIONS", holds up to our fanciest expectations in terms of quality and then some - again. This time, Quentin Guthrie and Ethan de Lacy are the pilots of the Sony VX-1000 (in between the capturing of analog atmosphere shots that eventually complement the skating very well), Italy is where it all went down, and one is granted the delight of lots of new Casey Foley footage, most notably; that's in between the likes of the ever-so-efficient Ben Gore and Philly Santosuosso, and even a pristine-looking Morgan Campbell, twenty-one years after Misled Youth!

Leo in L.A.

Just a few days after the online release of his third edit for Free Travel, VX-1000 die-hard - who no longer needs an introduction as we've already featured him this many times - Chris Thiessen is announcing a new series of web clips of his, produced by TransWorld and dubbed "Left Tapes". The concept is the documentation of street skating around L.A., and this first episode brings in a sound and fury of quite the smooth type, actually, with a timeline shared between a cruising-as-usual Leo Valls, a powerful-as-usual Alex Schmidt and music that actually, well, works.

Like butter!

Kiwis meet roastbeefs would be the least politically (and technically, even) correct possible, but oh-so-(anti-)gastronomic alternative title for this new amazing web clip from our Australian friends over at Buttergoods, who recently had a lot on their plate as they went to the UK and all they came back with was this not-lousy-whatsoever "Spoons": an impeccable edit of raw street skating bound to deliver enough weight to quench even the worst brick craving. Even the locals get to shine, the VX work is masterful and the editing flows super well, interestingly reminiscinent of another brand from Australia, the renowned Pass-Port. I guess you guys just might have good taste in general down under!

Yes, sir!

The WKND Team is back for our greatest happiness by offering, again, an incredible vidéo: Sir Palmer. And their filmer Grant Yansura who had already made the Stories video confirms here that he is there for something! It’s bubbling with creativity, as much in the realization as in skateboarding. In addition they even offer themselves a small detour to Paris that only makes the video better.

I want to have as much imagination as these guys. When we think about it, it’s quite logic, you don’t have any spots to skate, so build one. But when we think like the WKND team, we quickly end up skating a television, then a drum kit, and finally everything we have on hand. Without even speaking about this crazy introduction, this is the perfect video to start well a new day.

Where, in 2017, the skateboarding world dives even deeper into the 90's revival thing, by reaching the disputable territories of, well, Tribal House… But with the excellent Josh Roberts behind the lens, and the equally talented crew of Butter Goods in front of it, it works! Really. Really works. One will note a brilliant Ben Gore, here, as well as the arrival of the ever surprising Mike Arnold… Yep, this rules.
