Max's tip: "MERLOT"

Max Guyot (interviewed on the topic of his video "BROTHERHOOD" filmed in Nancy and Paris, here) most definitely knows what's up as he was the first to bring "MERLOT" to LIVE's attention - that is, two whole hours before its author could even find the time to e-mail us the link!

So, this "MERLOT" tastes like forty strong minutes of San Francisco brillance, equally brillantly collected by Ryan Flores featuring, on the other side of the lens, la crème de la crème of the modern local scene: Jameel Douglas (whose Parisian peregrinations you might remember from here) wraps up no less than a part in the pure tradition of the genre, then followed by the likes of Chris Athans, Ryan Barlow, Jesse Narvaez, Tom Farrell, James Sayres, Alex Greemann or Harry Hafner, amongst others, dotting the timeline... Even some classy visitors showed up: Léo Valls, Connor Kammerer, Jimmy Larkz or César Dubroca too are in, and that's without even counting Tobin Valverde, Kyle Cielencki (to get more familiar with here), Justin Henry, Simon Isaksson, and even renowned filmers such as Zach Chamberlin and Brett Nichols who both broke free from the record button for a minute. And then more, with Evan Collison and finally Cody Rosenthal, who completes an eventual picture that's vibrant of many a color, style and spot (all read with science, those ones).

"MERLOT" is the result of years worth of skating and filming; it is therefore only logical that its aromas feel so fine and sweet, with a punchy aftertaste to boot!

So, will you be grabbing that bottle or what?...

Free travel, bis!

Just a few weeks back, we were presenting you the first web edit for filmer Chris Thiessen and pimp John Lindsay's clothing brand: Free Travel. Well, they're back with a new production entitled "Trails", filmed over just four days in Los Angeles. The entire team (Chris Athans, Jesse Narvaez, Ryan Barlow, Mike Bloodsworth) shares the (literal) shine with a bunch of Northern Co. representatives, including a never-not-silky-smooth Jameel Douglas, and you're bound to feel the heat straight through the 3CCD prism - day and night!

Free Travel !

You aren't dreaming - yes, Free Travel! News even more exciting than you originally thought they would be, as that's actually the name of the newest S.F.-based clothing brand, a spiritual lovechild birthed by the hearts and souls of Bay Area OG John Lindsay (who's since moved, but had to leave some of his heavy legacy there) and filmmaker Chris Thiessen (notably the man behind the last few TransWorld SKATEboarding full-length videos to date; a topic he has discussed with us before, here!). The resulting garment isn't their only colorful output, too: so are the painted houses and warm tones so typical of the City that the Free Travel team zooms past; a roster comprising the ever-so-productive Chris Athans (Northern Co. and State's latest recruit), Jesse Narvaez (ex-Rasa Libre, Matt Field's company), a Ryan Barlow who always looks down to get high on a skateboard the specific mind-boggling ways he knows how, and then the appropriately named Mike Bloodsworth who goes in. This first edit of theirs actually makes you want to go on (idealistically free?) travels headed towards the hills of a particularly effervescent S.F. these days, as half the Free Travel crew just so happens to be involved in yet another promising, new enterprise: Loophole Wheels, with Zach Chamberlin. Unstoppable, these guys!

Maker

You would have met  him, just like us, pushing around the French capitol streets, via the Parisii edits, which he was one of the main alumni for, before having to let him move him back to San Francisco, where he quickly realized his dream of creating clothing that goes a step or two further the yet genius enough concept of slapping a skull of sorts over a t-shirt produced in the Third World… Yes, Evan Kinori is a fashion designer, sailing his little boat in the exact direction he chose. Which does not stop us from being the of skater you would to share a session with, whether in Paris or S.F. as proved here, through the magic eye of Zach Chamberlin

learn way more about Evan, here, thanks to this interview done by our colleagues at Theories!

Aquatic Spirit

A "Spirit Quest" section is bound to always have the same impact at first watch: first one gets confused by the frenetic pictures their eyes are resting on. Then, everything gradually becomes coherent and in the end, culminates as a sum that's incredibly pleasant to watch. And if this video looks like no other, it’s due to Colin Read's mind brimming with creativity, behind the lens. Everything is precisely thought out, and designed to hit hard thanks to a combo of filming, editing and spot selection taken to new heights. The resulting piece is so inspiring, just watching it could spark off vocations!

Raw Cali!

Those Threads guys know about that abraive and punchy street skating thing, and this compilation only confirms that fact, while also adding fire to the strange rumor stating that there is more to California than handrails in schoolyards!

North of the border

As seen in the recent issue of Push Periodical, the homies at The Northern Co. take on Los Angeles, and do it their way… A great collection of spots found along the less traveled sidewalks. Skated the way we all dig!

Bordeaux Exposure 2 / PREMIERE

We introduced you to Julien Januszkiewicz in 2013, for the release of his full-length, Bordeaux Exposure, a tour around Bordeaux the city that was his home then. Since, Julien has not slowed down one bit, in between a new life in Switzerland, a full-time "real" job, family lie and many trips. One thing that hasn't changed: his love for Bordeaux. No surprise, Julien is back with Bordeaux Exposure II, but from San Francisco to Geneva, Montpellier to Lyon, he mixes scenes while keeping his guiding line, inspired by the 90's videos he grew up on. Brace yourselves for street exploration through lines and crew sessions, with Bordeaux Exposure II, as a LIVE exclusive for three days. Thank you for the New Year's gift, Julien!

Relic Reel / Premiere

As announced this week-end, we are now offering you –as a 24 hours exclusive only– Relic Reel, a production coming from the Bay Area, mixing both styles and generations, in what is about the perfect length to get you in the mood! You have most likely heard some of those names here before, and for the rest, you can trust a long-time acquaintance, Evan Collisson –co-director with Jarod Taber– in his description of it all: "Shot on Super 8 film and VX1000 to a soundtrack as potpourri as it’s skaters, The Relic Reel rolls in the spirit of brotherly love, capturing a mosaic of casual sessions with new friends." Enjoy what's coming, and share it with all your brothers and sisters!

Whatever Bro. / Premiere

Let's kick off the year with an audio-visual postcard from San Francisco, by Jonathan Rezonable, featuring Bobby Groves, Josh Paz, and friends… A follow-up to In Brief, another LIve Skateboard Media exclusive, and a healthy dose of Bay Area street skating!
