Bigger Spin / EP 016 - Jérémie Daclin

Jérémie Daclin is another of those names anyone even remotely familiar with skateboarding and its scene (not just French, but global) should be familiar with, along with the classic style and character he's commonly associated with. Notably the founder of Cliché Skateboards then Film Trucks, he contributed to put Europe on the map back when it was still foreign to a California-centric perspective, and had the clue to sponsor certain undeniable talents such as Lucas Puig, Jan Kliewer or Pontus Alv at key moments, in between various trips of the unprecedented type and constant displays of effort to help the general status of the French sponsored skater gain in credibility.

Jérémie was recently the guest on the French skate podcast Big Spin by Sébastien Charlot and Arnaud Dedieu; an opportunity for him to cover his background as a skateboarder, then as an entrepreneur. His adventure started out with the skateshop All Access, then Cliché in 1997 and Film in 2018. Throughout those experiences, G.G. remembers and recounts many a trip, encounter, clip and industry-related matter: collaborating with photographers, managing a team, skating with Mark Gonzales, witnessing ups and downs and keeping skating fun past forty years young.

The French audio of the interview is available above and now, here's the complementary Bigger Spin article on LIVE - business as usual!

Switch Big Spin / Skatedads

Switch Big Spin / Stefan Janoski

U.S.-based professional skateboarder Stefan Janoski's popularity blew up in the mid naughts, subsequently to a switch flip rampage over, across and down literally any set of stairs he would find on his way. In two thousand nine, he picks a simple and uncluttered silhouette for his pro model shoe on Nike SB; now, fast forward to just a few years later and said shoe is established as an all-time best seller in skate footwear.

"How does a skate shoe gain iconic status?" is only a logical question to ponder upon the witnessing of such an explosive destiny. To try and address it, the French Big Spin Podcast crew went and interviewed pro skaters, designers, a fashion theorizer as well as Stefan himself - all streamable in English. And in the usual fashion, here is the complementary Bigger Spin article for even more info!

Bigger Spin / EP 015 - David Manaud

Finally, the Bigger Spin is back! The hard-hitting (as far as sweet info goes) complement to French skateboarding podcast Big Spin, punctuating each new episode as to illustrate the guest's words with still and moving pictures, plus various useful links. And the guest on the latest season two, episode three of Big Spin just so happens to be, this time, a name that should be familiar to the French scene: David Manaud, a longtime activist from the region of Bordeaux, albeit mostly on the cosier side of the lens. A renowned skate photographer whose works have been printed in magazines aplenty throughout the past decade, David's schedule also comprises the role of the team manager for DC Shoes, and his past the one of a witness of miracles authored over the years by the likes of Tom Penny, Bastien Salabanzi, or the local Jean-Philippe Trioulier (who once had a mislabeled switch kickflip shifty in a TransWorld Magazine 'check out'), Leo Valls, Guillaume Dulout, Ben Chadourne... Needless to say, David is quite experienced with managing skateboarders, making for a background he just covered in full in the aforementioned Big Spin episode - which we are, in turn, covering now - smooth!

Bigger Spin / EP 014 - Charles Collet

The second episode in the second series of French skateboarding podcast, Seb Charlot and Arnaud Dedieu's Big Spin, just came out! You may be familiar with the routine by now - such an event is synonymous with the corresponding complementary Bigger Spin article. In both cases, Charles Collet gets the spotlight this time, as the show's latest guest. The Grenoble grom inspired by local names such as Soy Panday and Nicolas Levet, but also by Dustin Dollin in the early 2000's promptly grew up into an early Cliché staple head, relocating to Lyon, hanging out with the Antiz guys and revealing himself throughout his career. Well, much more about that in the new episode of Big Spin, stremable above, and if you can't grasp the French language then fear not: the Bigger Spin on this page should help you comprehend all you need to know!

Bigger Spin / EP 013 - Seb Daurel

French skate podcast Big Spin is back in full effect for a second season still hosted by Sébastien Charlot, Arnaud Dedieu and featuring, as this year's first guest, the living institution from the South of France: Sébastien Daurel. A man strong of thirty years of skateboarding, a length professional career revolving around Powell Peralta, Cliché and Adidas, and an artlessness only equaling his spontaneous curiosity - although nothing beats his acting skills, and humor. These days, Seb manages the skatepark at Hangar Darwin, a job he doubles up with the one of a full-time dad, all the while being Instagram famous thanks to Leo Valls' Sebdoshow. In between tasks, he still managed to come through with enough history, anecdotes, jokes and banters to spread his silly over not just one, but two episodes of Big Spin. So now it's the Bigger Spin's time to get relaunched, and provide you with complementary commentary, links and moving and still images of various kinds as to illustrate Seb's stories, also in an effort of transmission to non-French speakers!

Bigger Spin / EP 012 - Eric Antoine

The name of Eric Antoine is bound to bring a smile to many a faces, most especially to the longtime, French skateboarding enthusiasts that is as the Photographe Célèbre's photos used to bring the warm tones of a unique vision to the pages of the national magazine SuGaR, for many years. But more than a lens man, Eric is a true character: a trait he just exposed as the guest in the new episode of French skate podcast, Sébastien Charlot and Arnaud Dedieu's Big Spin. Business as usual, as though to ensure nobody gets spared by the splashes of information the aforementioned episode contains, LIVE Skateboard Media's Bigger Spin comes in to complement Eric's anecdotes with both still and moving visuals, and links aplenty!

Bigger Spin / EP 011 - Stéphane Larance

Again, here arrives LIVE Skateboard Media's Bigger Spin complementary article to the freshest episode of French skate podcast Big Spin; punctuating the guest's course of speech with photos, videos and links aplenty, business as usual! And the latest Big Spin guest just so happens to be the man, the myth, the legend Stéphane Larance, a long-standing pillar of Paris skateboarding, and one of the first heads to ever come out of France and get on the radar of the industry, paving the way to the open, worldwide horizons skateboarding now strives under. If you can't grasp the French language, fear not: we did our best we could to come up with a sweet recap!

Bigger Spin / EP 010 - Ludovic Azémar

Bigger Spin / EP 009 - Sam Partaix

After many years of presence on the scene, the choice of Samuel Partaix for the guest of the latest episode of the French Big Spin Podcast was an obvious one. On Seb Chalot and Arnaud Dedieu's show, Sam shares stories pertaining to all things from his early years skateboarding to the skateshop he once opened in Tours with his mother, when he isn't recounting his life in Biarritz and more. This usual Bigger Spin article on LIVE Skateboard Media once again highlights the main subjects, and illustrates them with links aplenty!

Bigger Spin / EP 008 - Alix Malnati & Shani Bru

French skate podcast Big Spin is proud to have hosted two blossoming young women as skateboarding's representatives on the latest edition of their show. Alix Malnati and Shani Bru's voices make for an audible breeze of fresh air in a practice populary dominated by testosterone and the occasional macho attitudes, so you better catch that opportunity to listen to what the girls have to say! The satisfaction of skateboarding often comes with the price of a certain social emancipation (for better and for worse), even moreso as a female and this is exactly where individuals like Alix, Shani and hopefully you get to shine, unaffected by peer pressure and well determined to be their true selves, genuinely dedicated to their sincere passion with honesty and no damns given about any potential phantasmal prejudice. Get inspired by their strength (the kind of which you wish you had in your kickflips), and if you can't make any sense out of their delicate sentences due to being unable to grasp the French language then fear not, this Bigger Spin article comes to the rescue and punctuates their stories with photo et video illustrations. All you need is love!

Bigger Spin / EP 007 - Joseph Biais

The latest guest on the French skate podcast Big Spin is none other than a Joseph Biais strong of the opportunity to share his new web part, "Wavy", with you - another clip by a Romain Batard ("Giddy") who apparently never sleeps and never slips. Put the interview on, pump up the volume and enjoy the harmonious intertwining of Joseph, Sébastien Charlot et Arnaud Dedieu's respectively suave voices literally reinventing the French language, as your eyes skim through the following article in which the little kid formerly destined to be a Pierre Richard doppelgänger (he knows), now all grown up, narrates his own story, to the pace of the links and images punctuating the text below.
