Joseph Biais

Spectaacular!

Carhartt W.I.P. gathered one heavy crew for Lentiicular, a collecti(i)on of clips filmed over the span of three years between New York, Paris, Madrid and Lisbon. Roger Gonzales' video work is simply beautiful and the cast only makes it more incredible, with a great mix of styles such as those of Andrew Wilson, Remy Taveira, Tolia Titaev, Felipe Bartolomé, Joseph Biais, Taylor Caruso and even Chris Milic. But above all, finally we get to enjoy a real part from Roman Gonzales who as usual never fails at getting creative, gracious and technical.

Bigger Spin / EP 007 - Joseph Biais

The latest guest on the French skate podcast Big Spin is none other than a Joseph Biais strong of the opportunity to share his new web part, "Wavy", with you - another clip by a Romain Batard ("Giddy") who apparently never sleeps and never slips. Put the interview on, pump up the volume and enjoy the harmonious intertwining of Joseph, Sébastien Charlot et Arnaud Dedieu's respectively suave voices literally reinventing the French language, as your eyes skim through the following article in which the little kid formerly destined to be a Pierre Richard doppelgänger (he knows), now all grown up, narrates his own story, to the pace of the links and images punctuating the text below.

8 ball!

We barely had time to recover from the seventh episode, that Romain Batard dazzles us with an eighth Giddy. And this time the cast that travels through the streets of Paris is even bigger than as usual. We even have the right to a little touch of romanticism that makes everything so harmonious. Add a rather serious featuring by Steve Malet!

Gimme five!

"Look, ma', no hand!" Oh wait, yes hand, yes hands actually, and yes feet too… All in good spirits too, as always, when we speak about  Romain Batard!

"Gordon Beach Boys" / PREMIERE

As announced and promised yesterday, here is the latest Romain Batard's edit, following the Vans France team in Israel… Which means the spots are not yet burned into your frontal cortex, and also that the crew is not half bad at tackling them in interesting ways… You will also note the undeniable skills of the surprise Canadian guest, the stylish Johnny Purcell! Very much not bad for a Monday, we tell ya!

Gordon Beach Boys / GALERIE

On Monday, we will present you the newest edit by Romain Batard, following part of the Vans French team (Joseph Biais, Valentin Bauer, Quentin Boillon and Mickaël Germond) – plus their Canadian homie, Johnny Purcell–and their adventures in Isreal. So, you know you are in for the good stuff on spots you are not yet bored of! In order to get you in the mood, Loïc Benoit propose you, here, a selection of his best photos from their trip in the sun…

Euro Giddy!

If you ever wonder who's is really on one in French skateboarding at the moment, the best response we could offer you would be the keys to hack Romain Batard's hard-drives… They all here: Parisians, non-Parisians, tourists, visitors and dabblers! We will set aside the Taveira case, here, as he steals the show here –as in every other skate edit these days– to highlight Felipe Bartolome that appears here with no more mane and in great form!

Tav' alert!

So, the actual idea that Remy Taveira might fucking talented on a skateboard comes as no scoop, that's for sure… But this Guillaume Perimony project for Carhartt WIP raises the bar quite high in the "Great part form Remy" category! And, for this one he's got a supporting cast that adds up seriously, as nobody seems into staying in the shadows. Let's notably note the Classiest Australian in the World, Josh Pall. Yep, this is very sick and perfect to kick off the week-end!

Encoded

A new Öctagon superproduction? Count us –and you– in, as you know you are up for a general vibe that is completely different from anything out there, plus the kind of raw skating we all dig… And in order to introduce their collab with Vans, here, they don't mess around, neither on the script, not the content, as you might be surprised a couple times, here. Let's not spoil anything, but Joseph Biais wall ride variation deep in the La Défense labyrinth will stay in memory bases for a minute or two!

Contemporary art

Where the Nozbone team and colleagues go to Charleroi's BPS22 museum in order to enjoy the last hours of the "Paving Space" exhibition of Raphaël Zarka's  work…

Parisian cuisine

Autumn has reached us, but so far, so good… Then again, we have Augustin keeping an eye on it all!

"Capitale"

Another cruising edit through the streets of Paris, one might argue, but with Val Bauer and Joseph Biais on board, you know you are in for the skating you and we dig, all captured on 16mm, in a beautiful black and white by Thibaut Grevet.
