Pale grey eyes

The Grey Area Polish homies are back, still with O.G. Kuba Kaczmarczyk (interviewed here, in company of recent Danny Fuenzalida footage) at the wheel, driving in an audiovisual style that seemingly gets more refined with every new output. In addition to the local cities of Warsaw and Kraków, and of a chunk of Ukraine, the filmmaker's territory now also expands to Croatia where he notably connected with Tom Remillard at various editions of the Vladimir Film Festival; so of course, Tom has a full part (or two) in this new production, alongside the notorious Kraków Kids (interviewed here) Kuba Brniak, Michal Zarzycki and Franek Kramarczyk, but also Eniz Fazliov, Michal Juras, Didrik Galasso or Chilian talent Juan Jose Moraga. The spots are crazy, the tricks are quality, the rain is universal: a solid bite into some healthy, savory grey fruit, as usual. What’s a city? Its people, we say… More than its architectural specifics or urban furniture. Because they are making the doing and undoing, the everyday life of the city, and pumps in and out the blood into its streets.
This is why, when came the idea to shoot a snapshot of Paris in its Now, we all looked at Augustin Giovannoni, because he knows everybody, because he is everywhere at the same time, and because he always knows what is up. He is skateboarding in Paris. And it has been true since we launched LIVE –and even before that– despite his young age. Here lies his very own take on his city, one that belongs as much to its locals as its visitors. He’s crossed paths with them all, during a year, and here is what he made of it all.

The Magic Number

The classic spots, the other ones hidden in back alleys, the old timers, the fresh faces, the locs and the tourists: they all here! Paris, Berlin and London are three cities more than rich in character, and this is what the De Paris Yearbook crew has been pushing on us for a couple years now, and their latest video production is in the direct logic of this editorial line. But, let's not forget that De Paris, Aus Berlin and Of London are –before all– books you will be more than happy to find on your shelves in a few years!
