  1. Not so static

Falling into the category of very (very) good news, Danny Renaud's part in the Static III video is finally available free thanks to our friends from Theories of Atlantis. As you know, to get this magnificent final result you need Josh Stewart at the realization. But in addition to that we have an amazing Danny Renaud making us a pure demonstration of street skating in what is the best. A mastery of an almost perfect flatground, grinds which seems impossible at first glance, tricky endless manuals, and a lot of good big gaps because otherwise the panoply is not complete. All that with a good dose of speed and a unique style, in short a real Swiss knife of skateboard. It might not look like it, but this video was released a decade ago, and has not aged a day since… Classic material.

  2. Raw Renaud

Five minutes of never seen Danny Renaud!? Now that's a nice gift, and to top it all, there is literally no "throw away" here. Tech lines on the roughest spots, classy flip tricks that any current pro would kill to have in his next part… Well, take notes, people, take notes, and rejoice that Danny is coming back from his terrible accident, and is skating once again!

  3. Return of the Renaud

We knew he was back from Hell, but his part in the recent Politic full length reminds us many great memories… Always had a thing to tie up great lines, didn't he!?

  4. Best-of N.J!

For the time he’s been filming in New Jersey, Andrew Petillo has seen many things in front of his camera. So he concocted us here a little compilation of the best things he could immortalize. On the menu something to satisfy everyone from Danny Renaud to Al Davis, and even Jake Johnson. Some clips are already out, others are unreleased so go for it! Wishing you a good viewing, with perhaps a touch of nostalgia for some.
  5. PREMIERE / "Hot Plate" / Marshall Nicholson

It is no less than six years that Marshall Nicholson spent restlessly working on his second independent, full-length skate video (after "FEED YOUR HEAD", and shorter clips such as "JIVE"): "HOT PLATE", a few parts from which had already found their respective ways online before - notably via Theories of Atlantis and Vague Skate Mag. Talking Theories, they are still hosting this interview with Marshall by Mike Wine where the approach for, and process behind the piece were discussed in length; Vague, on their end, had Dom Henry take over the interrogation room, which resulted in even more commentary from the author.

Now, Marshall is a full-time father and still undertaking new projects, be it video-wise or not as he's also been busy managing Palms Skateshop; and yet in spite of such an intense schedule, today, he's delivering and serving us the full "HOT PLATE" - now watchable in one shot fired from Fort Myers, Florida but also, by extension, N.Y.C., Baltimore, Chattanooga and Tokyo. A whole universal story wrapped up within exactly forty-two VX-1000-driven minutes; Douglas Adams himself never was this correct at estimating the meaning of life.

  6. It's sunny in Miami!

A Who’s Who of classy skaters with clips of Danny Renaud confirming his return to health, that’s always neat, but with the smooth and nervous Alex Davis we love, plus Danny Fuenzalida –the most criminally under-rated skater of his generation!– in rare form? We dig!
  7. Making-of

The most interesting, here, apart from giving us the occasion to witness the efforts that take filming a full length as important as Static III, is the chance to face the greatness of Danny Renaud and Olly Todd at their prime… Let's not even mention the only Sabback trick, a moment of pure grace on what actually looks like a trap disguised as a possible spot. But, well, Josh, when is the 4 dropping, seriously!?
  8. Come back?

We could discuss Fred Gall's return to the bottle, the absolute anarchy of this montage, the quality (cough!) of the soundtrack, and other high brow subjects, but the ONLY thing that matters here is Danny Renaud's trick! Yep, he is skating again…
