Fred Gall

Eric Nguyen, whose talents - Sony VX-1000 in hand - no longer need an introduction (or if they do, then feel free to check out his past productions here), is back with "SLOPES": just short of eight minutes filmed in between his Texas home and San Francisco that honor both Select Skateshop and the Black Lives Matter movement (represented by several organizations whose respective websites are linked to in the YouTube description of the edit). There, one gets to see the usual suspects again - including Ben Havran and Kyle Cielencki to name just two out of many more, but also some of the kings of the Bay Area hills: Ben Gore, Ryan Barlow, Chris Athans and even Magenta Japanese flow rider Futoshi Tokuyama - who, from the looks of it, was really set on making the most of his S.F. vacation! Also worth mentioning: the appearance of a certain Fred Gall...

Eric's productivity being particularly upbeat, it can even exceed our workflow at LIVE sometimes - therefore we strongly encourage you to check out his YouTube channel to catch up with his recent activity - and more edits such as "CURFEW", for instance!

Magentech!

With the imminent approach of this new season comes Swedish ledge wizard and longtime ambassador of the three stripes Günes Özdogan's turn to duly earn his first pro model on Magenta Skateboards. A knighting celebrated as expected with the complementary digital drop of 'BENIM', a new clip in which Günes once again doesn't fail to demonstrate his trademark complete indifference when it comes to his own supposed stance, or the optimal flip trick to lock into given positions onto whichever object. Jasper Lindgren mostly filmed and edited, although one can find Makke Bengtsson in the list of guest filmers and, as far as guest skaters are concerned, well... Let's say the roster should keep you entertained - and that's till the tech eventually reaches its paramount!

"CLOSURE"

When Dan Wolfe himself uploads "CLOSURE", the legendary full-length video recap of his filmmaking career - between 1993 and 2003, precisely - with the best clips he ever filmed for classic releases such as "EASTERN EXPOSURE" and "REAL TO REEL" paired up with a lot of never-before-seen footage, with a healthy dose of S.F. in the mix as well, in the original quality and even clickable chapters, every man's quarantine is bound to suddenly get a lot smoother!

We'll also take the opportunity to link to the man's interview by Eric Swisher of Chrome Ball Incident, from the yesteryear. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and doses of culture can only be beneficial to one's immune system!

Best-of N.J!

For the time he’s been filming in New Jersey, Andrew Petillo has seen many things in front of his camera. So he concocted us here a little compilation of the best things he could immortalize. On the menu something to satisfy everyone from Danny Renaud to Al Davis, and even Jake Johnson. Some clips are already out, others are unreleased so go for it! Wishing you a good viewing, with perhaps a touch of nostalgia for some.

A steady diet of bricks!

You have heard the name Devon Connell mentioned here more than once, here, and always for a good reason, and this part here, shared with a buddy that skates quite differently, is to be added to the list of why we dig him, including that rather unhealthy attraction for the least smooth surfaces… Add a couple classy featurings, and you're good to go!

abrasion

You could have guessed that Fred Gall and co are not too into your perfect DIY built downtown with a city permit, but tend more to gather in the deep end of abandoned industrial areas, reclaimed through harsh trowel strokes… Which does not stop them from ripping!

The Year Zero

Perfect time of a times (the mid-nineties) long gone, Eastern Exposure Zero ends up also being the best way to get convinced of an evidence: the skateboarding of the likes of Matt Reason, Ricky Oyola, Fred Gall, Donny Barley and a few others remains the one that aged the best, to the point of certainly being the most appreciable for the young people of today. Come on, kids, do your homeworks, and we promise, it will NOT be a bore!

Gall alert!

Freddy, always killing it!

Nothing like slightly unprofessional footage from buddies of all levels skating together to remind us we are all the same… Well, Fred Gall slightly less than the others!

"Bill Murray"

"If you like O.G. skateboarders, if you like change, if you like different places, and if you like New York, I think you should watch the video." Now that's one hell of a program, as announced by Alex Raspa, but, well, he steps up to it! Amazing collage of generations, spots, cities and sounds… This should last you the week-end, and one hell of a week-end, too…
