Jacopo Carozzi

Urban Ruben

A couple universes away from the next Olympics, there it is: Milanese magician Ruben Spelta just earned himself the medal of professionalism via Magenta, and "IL FANTASISTA" is the title of the seven-minute clip officially testifying of said newly-acquired honorific title. Just like last time, behind the camera can be found normally Bordeaux-based Andréa Dupré at operating duties and, as far as subjects, we of course get our fair share of Ruben skating; but also Soy and Vivien who opted to join in and around Milan, obviously well over the abuses and excesses from the New World Order and in need for escapism. And so some beautiful kickflips and choreographed lines did go down in the city those times, also to the beat of many other locals' pushes. This should inspire you to go out and skate too, and also to add cultivating the ideal of suave feet to the list of your personal ambitions.

Jacopo-po-PO!

Well, there is no competition… Or when you can start your part with just redifining a few well rinces spots!

The duo between Jacopo Carrozi from Milan (on the planks) and Yoan Taillandier from Bordeaux (behind the lens) hits hard, again and this time with what's announced to be just the beginning in a new series of web clips, even: "MILAN: CHAPTER ONE" is two minutes and a half of some of the most internationally renowned VX-1000 action paired up with some brutal and solid street skating, subsequently edited Yoan style in a modern and daytime Minuit style that's certainly evocatice of his video works for Futur.

Yesterday's youth

As to set the record straight in modern times witnessing an explosion of coverage of the Milan skate scene (we'll be sending you back to, amongst other options, Patrick Frunzio's videos), longtime local crew Chef Family - here led by René Olivo - just unveiled the latest Spaghettochild production: "Youth Of Yesterday" is an award-winning documentary on Gianluca Mariani, resident O.G., creative pioneer and director of the aforementioned institution of a small brand since 1989, forever a skater with his fair share of roots digging deep into punk culture.

The resulting film consists in twenty-six magnificiently-edited minutes (René being a professional editor in his spare time off the board) of pure information and street skating - all eras included, both of which should hit at least a few right notes in most every dedicated skateboarder. So, please enjoy this batch of footage of the Milan youth of both today and yesterday, all gathered by a common passion every and each of them reinterpeted their own way, punctuating the local skate history with just as many different styles and stuffed into quite the humorous calzone. Thirty years of meticulously documented and assembled adventures dipped in olive oil, with a message in the back - somewhere.

Crusties

Well, rather clean ones, really, especially when it comes to tricks! Even on the crustiest spots… With a special mention to Cyrus Bennett manuals!

Monday blu

So, how do you start off a rainy week the best possible way!? Well, by celebrating the concrete pouring obsessed "development" of the most beautiful places in the world, by drilling swimming pools and water parks there… With the La Dolce Vita crew, off course! Without them, it sure would look a lot less fun! But, frankly, how insane is that spot, seriously!?

Daan alert!

So, it is official! The most antihero of all our Northerner neighbors (and lord knows there is quite a heavy competition over there, when it comes to that category!) has joined the Swoosh, and a lot of his buddies in order to soak in a bit of sun, and annihilate some spots in the meantime on a small Spanish island… Yep, he kills!

G alert!

The Futur heads goes the Italian way, and take the Mayor of République with them… The street we dig, captured by Yoan Taillandier: perfect!

Charles' tip: Jarne & Jacopo!

"Jarne and that Jacopo dude, only really, really great stuff!" Well, duh!
