"The Stack" / Northern Co. in Paris / PREMIERE

In the desperate effort to taste new grounds, some of the most savory cuisine the old continent has to offer - ranging from every almond chocolate croissant one can cram into a pocket to the most exotic cheap street pizza - and endless cruises around the skate Mecca of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, Northern Co. team riders Jesse NarvaezJameel Douglas and Tobin Valverde hopped on a plane (or two) to Paris last summer and stacked many a thing up to the ceiling - including clips!

Today, LIVE Skateboard Media is presenting this exclusive montage of some of what went down... Stay tuned with @northernco and @liveskateboardmedia for more news!

Six pack!

We haven't been without introducing you to Loophole - the S.F.-based wheel company piloted by some of the best - before; and if the name of Zach Chamberlin still eludes you to this day somehow, then we strongly encourage you to do some research!

Anyway, this time, the whole roster (and what a roster, even featuring a couple of new heads) visited Seoul then Osaka, Tokyo and finally Kobe, only to bring back a twelve-minute-long piece of VX-1000 handicraft that's bound to make you mentally travel - and physically, at least as far wherever your board is resting right now.

Free travel, bis!

Just a few weeks back, we were presenting you the first web edit for filmer Chris Thiessen and pimp John Lindsay's clothing brand: Free Travel. Well, they're back with a new production entitled "Trails", filmed over just four days in Los Angeles. The entire team (Chris AthansJesse NarvaezRyan BarlowMike Bloodsworth) shares the (literal) shine with a bunch of Northern Co. representatives, including a never-not-silky-smooth Jameel Douglas, and you're bound to feel the heat straight through the 3CCD prism - day and night!

S.F. alert!

We hinted to it already in this previous post about John Lindsay and Chris Thiessen's new garment-related enterprise, Free Travel; business-wise, a bunch is boomin' in the Bay Area these days with, equally, Loophole wheels, the uprising independent brand manufacturing soft and hard goods all destined to take a more downwards path - such as, in this case, zooming past the colorful landscapes of the streets of San Francisco, the nooks and crannies of which are hereby documented undergoing heavy physical inspection by trucks belonging to quite the epic team: co-founders Ryan Barlow (Magenta flow), Jesse Narvaez (Northern Co.) and filmer extraordinaire Zach Chamberlin, a solid roster already also happening to comprise flow master Jameel Douglas, quick feet kings Glen Fox and Chris Athans, and Roger Krebs. Glen's S.F. footage in "Stack Your Bread" especially makes it an instant classic (with impeccable timing as Glen also has a part in the new video Magenta video "Balade", currently premiering and just about to drop), and more generally everyone involves is featured playing their own role which is exactly why we love them for, and we'll definitely be keeping an eye on the certain progression of Loophole!

Free Travel !

You aren't dreaming - yes, Free Travel! News even more exciting than you originally thought they would be, as that's actually the name of the newest S.F.-based clothing brand, a spiritual lovechild birthed by the hearts and souls of Bay Area OG John Lindsay (who's since moved, but had to leave some of his heavy legacy there) and filmmaker Chris Thiessen (notably the man behind the last few TransWorld SKATEboarding full-length videos to date; a topic he has discussed with us before, here!). The resulting garment isn't their only colorful output, too: so are the painted houses and warm tones so typical of the City that the Free Travel team zooms past; a roster comprising the ever-so-productive Chris Athans (Northern Co. and State's latest recruit), Jesse Narvaez (ex-Rasa Libre, Matt Field's company), a Ryan Barlow who always looks down to get high on a skateboard the specific mind-boggling ways he knows how, and then the appropriately named Mike Bloodsworth who goes in. This first edit of theirs actually makes you want to go on (idealistically free?) travels headed towards the hills of a particularly effervescent S.F. these days, as half the Free Travel crew just so happens to be involved in yet another promising, new enterprise: Loophole Wheels, with Zach Chamberlin. Unstoppable, these guys!

Better late than never…

Because, well, yes, that new Yoan Taillandier edit is made of footage filmed in San Francisco five years ago, but the great thing about skateboarding, just like for wine, is that it ages well, and even often really well. Well, unless you are on team managing duties… One will notably note what could almost make a full part of James Coleman and his signature powerful yet flowing style.

Rising sun dreams…

Going to Japan to skate is one thing. Going to Japan to skate, and more, with the locals is another… Off course, The Northern Co. heads have genuine friends to visit over there, and you can feel it right away… The result is that, from San Francisco hills to Osaka train station, you can feel how at home they are, with many homies that rip just as much as they do!

Devil twins

Those two do not lony share the fact that both ride for The Northern Co. but also their ability to just hit hard the spots unlucky enought to cross their paths, no matter their shape or twisted form…

North of the border

As seen in the recent issue of Push Periodical, the homies at The Northern Co. take on Los Angeles, and do it their way… A great collection of spots found along the less traveled sidewalks. Skated the way we all dig!

Bright Moments

If you have missed the Paris and Marseille premieres, here is enough to get you amped! Bright Moments, the new Zach Chamberlin is now available here and should be your summer investment! Hours of fun analyzing crazy lines around SF and the rest of the world, and to wonder when imagining the filer's skills, also… Guaranteed!

Northern City

Our buddies from The Northern Co. just sent some news from their most recent NYC escapade, and by looking at their clothes, it was still summer then, which allowed them to skate with many, locals or tourists… Yep, good stuff, street stuff, great street skating, as you would expect from them!

Portland Excursion

Once again, The Northern Co. do it right, with the kind of trip to Portland you would have loved to share with them, in between camping, woods exploration and stimulating street furniture. They just have it figured out! Let's note, once again, the explosive smoothness of Jameel Douglas!
