"CLASSICO" / GALERIE

A couple of weeks back, LIVE was featuring "CLASSICO", the new video with its contents filtered through the eye and VX-1000 of Practice Session's Corentin Ohlmann, in between Paris and Marseille, in a style comparable to the one of "BROTHERHOOD" (the video by Corentin's friend Max Guyot, itself filmed in Nancy and Paris). Our most faithful readers should already know by now, but most every skateboarder involved in "CLASSICO" also happens to double up as a photographer (as their respective contributions to the No Contact Sheets project can attest) and today here they are, presenting you this gallery of clichés they shot whilst on the sessions, be the latter street- or beach-based. Amongst the contributors: Corentin himself but also George Booth-Cole, Max Guyot, Clément Harpillard, Matias Elichabehere, Alexis Jamet, Yedihael Canat and Antoine "Chuck" Jouguet - whose talents also comprise team management, it looks like, since he played a big role in gathering all those images, for you!

Classico

Corentin Ohlmann of Practice Session is a skateboarder (and one you might have caught in the act via Max Guyot's full-length indie piece, "BROTHERHOOD"), draws John Muscu (amongst other things), and likes to be discreet when it comes to his skills with a Sony VX-1000; well, at least he was before "CLASSICO", his newest skate edit to date, meticulously crafted, adorned with hand- and home-made titles and split in two parts: first a Paris section, then a Marseille segment. Solid filming, spots aplenty and a colorful roster (albeit slightly leaning towards a certain Magenta tint): what you get is seven minutes and a half of the real thing, more fun a workout than one of jumping jacks.

Stay tuned for the photo gallery soon, if the world doesn't collapse or something. In the meantime, you can check a variety of Corentin's former edits on his YouTube channel, here!

Better late than never…

Because, well, yes, that new Yoan Taillandier edit is made of footage filmed in San Francisco five years ago, but the great thing about skateboarding, just like for wine, is that it ages well, and even often really well. Well, unless you are on team managing duties… One will notably note what could almost make a full part of James Coleman and his signature powerful yet flowing style.

Yoan Taillandier / 5 W's!

As to better accompany his new Bordeaux montage, here's another dimension of Yoan's perspective on all things MINUIT, through the prism of our classic treatment-by-the-5 W's!

Parisii / le remix / Magenta homies

Fuck it, it is Easter, so this one is on us! Here is the Magenta part of the Parisii remix. Baby Jesus was dead and came back, or not really, but the only thing we know for sure is friends are forever!

Matias Elichabehere / skate part

We had introduced you to Matias and his composing work for many of the videos you have had on repeat, a few weeks ago, via the "Eyes On" done by Olivier Fanchon. Here is the skate part that ended it, so you can focus also on the time he spends outside the studio…

Eyes On / Matias Elichabehere

An audio visual visit to the musician that composed for more than one of your favorite videos… A rare occurrence, when you think about it!

Charles' tip: La Capsule Magenta - UK

"Please remember they drive on the left lane over there!" Damn, Ben Gore just feels at home on any streets, doesn't he?

Color Fools / Blue Fool / Julien Paccard

The sixth part of Color Fools is a bit more special, as it is the one that started it all! Julien Paccard had first decided to tackle himself the challenge of filming a full part on naturally blue spots only, as he was telling us a little while ago, before dragging in a whole gang of reckless fools in the mix… So, yes, this Blue Fool is the film maker behind the whole thing, and the least you can say is that filming his seven associates did not slow him down for his own personal mission! The part also features a custom track from Matias Elichabehere… Go on, Blue Boy!

Parisii XIX

Our Paris visit, orchestrated by Greg Dezecot and Olivier Fanchon continues! The XIXth arrondissement on its own, both improbable cultural patchwork and an often heterogeneous mix of classic Paris landscape with already dated modern architecture, would already be the ideal playground, but this edit goes a bit further. This is the first collaboration of the project creators with Matias Elichabehere, a musician whose work you would already know from Minuit, Soleil Levant, or Lenz2… Matias even filmed quite a lot for this, on top of cutting a custom fit soundtrack, offering you a quite special Parisii episode. Enjoy with both eyes and ears!
