Take Five (Pushes)

Push Periodical, the independent, print photography-oriented skate mag orchestrated by legendary photographer from the U.K. Richard Hart (interviewed by LIVE here), celebrates its five years of existence (only? already?) as a petite entreprise with "5", an exclusive edit signed by just-as-legendary Sony VX-1000 wizard Zach Chamberlin which revisits a past half-of-a-decade mostly spent on the road - or when the San Francisco hills decide to lead you somewhere in between Portugal and Hungary... On the program: nearly forty skaters documented throughout that timespan, whose most footage has found a home in different productions in the meantime and yet, they manage to take a whole new flavo(u)r here - which isn't that surprising as Rich can definitely school anyone on how clementines really make camembert come alive, and that's in spite of all their preconceived notions. Behind the camera, in addition to Zach: Colin Read, Romain Batard, Chris Thiessen, Grant Yasura... And Dan Wolfe, for the final tribute to Keith Hufnagel - of course. The soundtrack is by a longtime friend of Richard's: Brigid Dawson.

Healthcare

The new Antiz Skateboards full-length video "HEALTHCARE" is now live! Once again partly handicrafted by Ludovic Azémar, whose works LIVE has presented before time and time again, but with the help of the whole fam in the editing room this time, this one features - amongst others - Samu Karvonen, Thanos Panou, Roland Hirsch, Peter Molec, Michel Mahringer, Pepe Tirelli, Yeelen Moens, Sam Partaix, Robin Bolian, Gabriel Engelke, Julien Bachelier, Teemu Pirinen and Uryann Raudet - who also doubled up as the man in charge of the animations for this clip.

And for an even better presentation, make sure not to miss the photo gallery above, courtesy of Fabien Ponsero!

#PFW clip

Where most Fashion Week warriors would leave town most likely feeling hangover just from vague memories of parties they never even attended, we already know the Pop heads always bring back home a sick edit, wether it poured rain, snow, champagne or street beers… Despite celebrating Hugo Snelooper's b-day, beer mouthwash and all… Mission accomplished!

A sparking 2018!

A yearful of Pop, what does it adds up to, in the end? Well, to a good chunk of disparate and not always obvious spots from all around Europe, all tackled in good spirits… Proof, here, obviously!

Brick squad

And the Pop boys are back, this time applying at home, one built mostly from bricks of various sizes and colors, most times not very well jointed… To say the list. Yes, we are talking about Antwerp, a city not necessarily known for its perfect spots. Which does not seem to bother anyone, here, and certainly not locals Yeelen Moens and Alex Raeymaekers, that display here their well-known ATV skills!

Parking Fashion Week

Where the Pop Trading Company boys manage to bring back a full edit from a week in Paris marked by heavy and endless rain… We've told you before they were more or less weatherproof, and also actually enjoying each other company even if locked up for days in the grimiest parking garages in town. In between Parisian parties! Also note that our very own Aymeric got a line, here!

Encoded

A new Öctagon superproduction? Count us –and you– in, as you know you are up for a general vibe that is completely different from anything out there, plus the kind of raw skating we all dig… And in order to introduce their collab with Vans, here, they don't mess around, neither on the script, not the content, as you might be surprised a couple times, here. Let's not spoil anything, but Joseph Biais wall ride variation deep in the La Défense labyrinth will stay in memory bases for a minute or two!

Electro Pop!

Looking for a best-of of the year Pop Clips? Well, here it is! Hell, they even threw some of that music young people listen to on top of it!

Dutch Pop

The Pop homies strike back with two new secret weapons: a young and talented Yeelen Moens, and a most likely not so young anymore but talented (well…) nonetheless Frank Boeijen for their soundtrack! And let's be honest, you might not be ready for it… Not the skating, uh, we speak about the song… Well, you tell us what you make of it!

The alpha and the omega…

Once again, the Öctagon heads demonstrate how strong minded they are, by following their original concept with a persistence one can only salute, just as well as all the talents involved. Not much more to add, apart maybe that from the skating to the editing, everything here is about impeccable, and even more!

Pop in translation

Even after spending a week in Berlin with the Pop Trading Company heads, impossible to translate you what Willem van Dijk might say, but rest assured it is something slightly pissed off yet really funny! Another thing that put a smile on our face is that Noah Bunink still represents #popliveinberlin!

Post gabber!

Should Bram have gotten last trick? Is the hardware market ready for a brand influenced by Dutch dance floors? Is Öctagon the most refined and defined project you can watch these days? So many questions…
